In a friendly matchup on roller skates, the UC Davis Ice Hockey Team and Roller Team took up some after-season intramural action. It marks the first time UCD Ice Hockey has played as a team on roller skates, and what fun it was! Fans were treated to a spectacle as the Ice Hockey team struggled to get their bearings while on wheels (pun intended). The game started out sloppy for the Ice team; the Roller team was able to put in two quick goals to start the game. But the Aggies piled on shot after shot, scoring two just before the end of the period to tie it, with a heavy favor of shots. The second period went similarly, with the Roller team scoring one.
The last period would see the most desperate play. The Ice team finally was able to keep up with the Roller team after getting together, and put up a number of goals, leading 6-4. The Roller team would pull the goalie and score one more, but Ice Hockey held on for a 6-5 win! It was a fun event sure to be repeated at somepoint in the future.
The Alumni game is also coming up soon! Stay tuned!
