Last weekend, the Aggies kicked off Winter Quarter by taking on Stanford at home. It was UC Davis' first game since coming back from a lengthy break, but the Aggies wasted no time getting into form. Defenceman Kyle Armstrong would score just 14 seconds into the first period to kick off the scoring. The goals would begin to pile up early, with the Aggies taking a 3-1 lead in the first period.
The scoring would not stop, with the Aggies replying to Stanford's mid-game pressure with outstanding goaltending from rookie Michael Bodamer to keep the team up, while goals kept coming in the other end, including a fantastic breakaway goal from veteran Sam Lehr.
With the game in hand, the highlight of the game came with 34 seconds left when Niklas Braun set up rookie Shai Bruhis for his first goal of the season. A great first game for the team, which would end in a 9-3 victory.
This coming weekend, the Aggies will take their annual southern California road trip. Friday, they take on Chapman University in an attempt to even the season series against them after falling 8-7 in the last quarter.
